Former state Republican Party Chair Robin Smith is endorsing Mt. Juliet Sen. Mae Beavers in her re-election battle with Mt. Juliet Rep. Susan Lynn.
“Senator Mae Beavers is a proven leader who doesn’t just talk-the-talk, but who actually walks-the-walk,” Smith said in a statement released by the Beavers campaign. “Mae continues to give the Republican Party and female leaders a good name by her outstanding service as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and through sponsoring legislation that attempts to combat mandates handed down by President Obama. I applaud her sound and steadfast adherence to conservative fiscal and social principles. Mae has always worked in the interest of the people of the 17th District, not in the interest of her own political career.”
Beavers returns the favor by saying Smith, who is running for U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp’s seat, will make a fine congressman.
